About Peninsula Jag
Murray Scoble, the owner of Peninsula Jag says "There is only one way to fix a Jag - and that is the right way the first time." Murray's love affair with Jaguars started as a child. Most of his relatives drove them and this, in turn, instilled a passion in him to expand his knowledge.
In 1979, he started an apprenticeship at a Jaguar workshop to qualify well and in turn earn a place as a Jaguar mechanic at one of the largest Jaguar spare parts suppliers in Australia. 15 years later, Murray had an opportunity to purchase a neglected business, not far from home, and a chance to put his expertise into his own business.

Today Murray and his wife Amanda has a vast number of loyal clients who trust their treasured cars to their knowledgeable care. Murray is happy building either standard engines or competition ready Jaguar engines which is a major part of his life.
A Word From The Owner
In this day and age I strongly believe in specializing! If I wanted a car detailed I’d take it to a car detailer, if I wanted a side of beef I’d go to a butcher, if I wanted a reconditioned JAG motor I’d bring to me ! Because I’m a specialist, that’s all I do, that’s all I want to do, that’s all I’ve done for as long as I can remember ,rebuild JAGUAR and DAIMLER motors. I couldn’t tell you how many I’ve done - I wish sometimes I kept a count and a register of what they were, what was done and where they are now for that would make for fascinating reading. Needless to say I pulling my own chain but you shouldn’t have to go far to talk to someone who would pull it for me !
I don’t care if it’s a 6 cylinder or a 12 or if its from an XK or a XJ40 it is what I do best and love it ! I’m 47 years young, I’ve played with cars since I was a tot and jags for as long as I can remember. Mum and Dad, uncles, aunties, relatives and grand parents all owned them. I done my apprenticeship on them and was in a specialized Jaguar / Daimler business after that for 12 years plus. I’ve now been at the helm of my own business (Peninsula Jag P/L) since 1991 and have recently moved to Sth East Queensland and have brought all my tools, my experience and reputation with me.
You have the options of either supplying your motor (short or bare long) (for many like the originality of keeping their engine number) to us or perhaps a change over unit would suit you best and we will carefully wrap, pack and strap it to a pallet and transport anywhere in the country. Another option is to offer your car to us as we are happy to do the remove and refit also if you so choose.
I have a couple of simple philosophies....
- If your going to do it, do it right
- Treat it as if it were mine - and
- Customers are hard to get so once you have them, look after them !
So now you are at my website please have a bit of a wonder for there is a lot more information to be had.
